Teyana Taylor was a very special guest at a massive recent concert. Specifically, she appeared at the epic finale of the Teyana Taylor Jay-Z Yankee Stadium residency.
Despite facing major technical difficulties, Taylor refused to let audio issues ruin her memories. She proudly stepped into the Mary J. Blige role during her moment on stage with Jay-Z. Together, they performed the classic track “Can’t Knock the Hustle” from the Reasonable Doubt album.

The Harlem native quickly thanked Jay-Z for the incredible opportunity. She showed eternal gratitude and put the night into perspective with a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday, July 13.
“The sound and in-ears said, ‘Not today.’ But guess what? The gratitude was louder than any mic could ever be,” she explained to her followers. Furthermore, she admitted she could not hear anything during the song. However, she focused entirely on what she could see.
“I got to see this lil Harlem girl stand beside the GOAT in Yankee Stadium,” she reflected in her caption. Additionally, she marveled at performing in front of over 40,000 people who showed so much love.
Taylor shared several photos and videos of her performance in a carousel post. She admitted that her younger self would have never believed this moment could happen.
“Father God has a funny way of reminding you just how far you’ve come,” she continued. Next, she explained that God gently reminds you when you are standing inside a childhood prayer.
She proudly concluded her post by thanking Jay-Z again. “Thank you for the opportunity, the trust, and the honor,” she wrote. Finally, she promised to carry this moment with her forever and wished a happy 30th anniversary to his culture-changing albums.

Sunday’s historic show got off to a very rocky start. Thousands of fans were temporarily stranded outside Yankee Stadium after a major security breach. Because unticketed fans rushed an entry point, security immediately closed the gates.
Consequently, the show was heavily delayed until 12:30 a.m. ET on Monday morning. Fortunately, Hov brought out a star-studded cast of guests to reward his patient fans. He invited Beyoncé, Rihanna, Clipse, The-Dream, Pharrell, and Jeezy to join him on stage.
Meanwhile, it has been an incredibly busy month for Taylor. She was recently honored with the Icon of the Year Award at the 2026 BET Awards in June. The legendary Janet Jackson presented the award to celebrate Taylor’s impact across music, fashion, and film.
