Kendrick Lamar is making history again. On his Grand National Tour with SZA, Kendrick set a new record for the highest amount ever made by a rapper from a single live show.
On May 17, Kendrick performed at Lumen Field in Seattle. The concert earned $14.8 million, making it the highest grossing rap concert in history. Nearly 61,000 fans came to see the show, making it the biggest crowd of the tour so far.
This isn’t Kendrick’s first record on this tour. Just earlier, his show in Dallas earned $11.8 million, breaking the previous record for a Black artist’s single-night concert income. Before Kendrick, that record belonged to The Weeknd, who made $9.8 million at SoFi Stadium in 2022.
The first stop of the Grand National Tour was in Minneapolis. That night, Kendrick already made headlines by grossing over $9.1 million from a crowd of 47,000. It was enough to beat Eminem’s 2019 stadium concert record in Melbourne, Australia. Touring Data confirmed the stats, showing just how huge Kendrick’s impact is in live hip hop performances.
But the record-breaking doesn’t stop at concerts.
Kendrick’s hit song “Not Like Us” has made chart history. The track has now spent a full year on the Billboard Hot 100—a first for any rap song ever. Even after 12 months, it is still holding strong at No. 22 on the chart. This shows fans are still listening, streaming, and enjoying the hit across the globe.
Another major win is Kendrick’s song with SZA, “Luther.” The track has been No. 1 on Billboard for 13 straight weeks. That makes it one of only 15 songs ever to hit this milestone. “Luther” is also now the longest charting Hip Hop No. 1 song of all time. Billboard.com confirms this historic run.
While Kendrick hasn’t spoken about any of these records yet, the numbers speak loud and clear. He’s setting the bar higher and showing what’s possible for live music and hip hop.
Fans online have praised Kendrick for his performance skills, creative shows, and the emotional power of his music. The Grand National Tour is still going strong, and who knows what other records he might break before it ends.
